New Necklace

So, this is a belated Christmas/early Mother's Day gift from Ben.  I searched for a long time to find exactly what I wanted and contacted a few sellers on Etsy to design what I wanted (I love Etsy!).  I went with IntentionallyMe on Etsy.  She was great to work with!  She returned e-mails promptly, helped me design exactly what I wanted, and had great turn around time (I got it in just over a week!).  I  LOVE it!  It is exactly what I wanted.  So, if you're in the market for something like this, I would highly recommend IntentionallyMe.

Here's how it turned out!
It is like a locket with two domed discs together.  It is two birds on a branch that says "blessed" underneath it.

Inside it has a charm of Miles' and Isla's birthstones (ccoincidentally Miles' is blue, Sapphire, and Isla's is pink, Pink Tourmaline or an Opal).   The bottom of the inner disc says "miles & isla".

And for added fun, a couple random pics of my sweet girl from a couple weeks ago (gotta show them off somewhere!).

Jumperoo!

A couple months ago, we busted out the good 'ole jumperoo!  While we vowed not to get one of these for Miles, we caved when he was  6 months old.   We caved mainly because I couldn't get through a shower without having  to get out and walk my dripping wet, soapy self into the hall to right my six  month old son in his  bouncy chair.  You see, he would try to sit up in his the chair and end up toppled over with his  head on the ground, unable to get himself  back up.  He would lay there and say "Eh, eh, eh" until I would peek out of the shower, see him on his head, and get out and fix it.   After a few showers interrupted several times by this, we decided we needed a new stationary "storage" place (for lack of a better term) for our baby when not completely supervised.  We went with the jumperoo, and he loved it!

Isla has had great head and neck control from early on.  I didn't really like having  her on the floor all the time because of a certain 3 year old running around, so we decided to get the jumperoo out a little early for Isla.

This is her first adventure, just after 3 months:

By 4 months, she was enjoying herself thoroughly, turning in circles, jumping, playing with the toys, and reaching the floor.

Now it is one of her favorite pastimes!  She thinks it is a hoot :)

Taken today, at 5 months!

And just for fun, here is Miles at 6 months in the jumperoo.

If you're wondering why I'm adding Miles as a baby to so many of these posts, it's  because I didn't start the blog until Miles was about 18months old.  So, I'm missing a lot of him  as a baby.  I'm still in progress on his first year scrapbook, and will hopefully start Isla's first year scrapbook soon.  However, I've  decided I can't fit it all in a scrapbook!  Imagine that!  So I've decided to work on turning each year of  my blog (almost 2 full years now!) into a blog book using some software I downloaded from the Internet.  So, I'm hoping to have the books of my blog be all inclusive for our lives.  This will require some "flashback" posts in the future to times of  our wedding, honeymoon, etc.  I hope you enjoy!

Baby in a basket

One sunny day a few weeks ago, I did a fun little 4ish month photo shoot with Miss Isla.  I did a similar shoot around this age with Miles, so I thought I'd do the same with Isla.  Warning...naked baby pics below!

At first she was pretty cooperative and taking it like a champ.
Sit in a basket on a dresser?  No problem!

Sit in another basket on a dresser?  Again, no  problem!

She even thought it was maybe a little fun...

But only for a few minutes!

Then  we moved on to no baskets at all, which she enjoyed a little more :).

Here are a few from the similar shoot with Miles around 4 months, though he got to sit in a bin, not a basket (and looks a little worried about it!).

Miles was a feet baby.  Isla is a hand baby.
They do kinda look alike, don't they?

A Visit from Grandma!

Time is flying way too fast and I am way behind on my blog!  Forgive me, please :).
A few weeks ago, Grandma Mo, otherwise known as 'nother Grandma, paid us a visit.  She was going to be in the neighborhood for a meeting and stopped by afterward for some playtime.  She brought Happy Donald's with her!

I tried to snap a few photos to document her visit :)

Here, Isla is showing you one of her favorite things to do...chew.  She'll chew on just about anything she can get into her mouth!

This  is the best I could get of all three lookign at the camera.  Miles, however is drinking  his chocolate shake that Grandma brought :)

Miles played with his trains, read some stories, and made us coffee.

Just like his cousin Peter, loves playing barista!

Painting!

Miles newest favorite activity is PAINTING!!!  He loves to paint.  Page, after page, after page.
For these pictures, I dug out the finger paints.  He made quite the mess :)

But he had fun!
Then he painted himself....and hopped in the bath!

Trust me.  He has spent hours upon hours painting with water paints, regular paints, and finger paints over the past month.
