Pretty Piggies of a Different Kind

Monday was a beautiful day.  We ran a few errands and then decided to go to a local park to check out the gardens and conservatory.  Isla was looking very cute in her summer searsucker romper.  Her hair has been getting longer....at least on the back and sides :).  The top is longish in t he middle, but the top sides and front are short.  As is the nape of her neck.  Anyhow, I've been itching to put it up somehow.  She will wear a pretty clip for a bit, but then will pull it out.

I've recently discovered that I can put piggy tails in the back.  I adore pig tails on little girls.  The trick was getting the ties tight enough so she couldn't pull them out.  She did pull them out during her nap, so I had to put them back, but they were sooooooo cute!!!

Pretty adorable, I think!  Her hair looks very red in this light!

Chelan Part 3

Sunday morning, we got up and had some breakfast.  Unfortunately, one sister and some cousins had to hit the road early and we said goodbye the night before.  After breakfast, we packed up the car and checked out of the hotel, then hit the pool and beach one last time.

Miles was all over the pool.  Very independent with his life vest on.  It was nice.  He's getting close to swimming without it, but I wasn't going to let him take it off in a busy pool with a 1 year old to keep an eye on!

Isla loved the water as well.  On Friday, I took her all over the pool.  She also did some swimming in the hot tub.  She had a great time in the water!

Auntie Annie hung around for a while and swam with us.  Tim, Heidi and their kids stuck around for a bit, too, but left before us.

After the pool and hot tub, we went back to the beach again before hitting the road.

After some fishing and digging, we changed and loaded up the car.  We stopped at Starbucks and the burger joint for lunch.  Isla was asleep before we even left Chelan!

The kids did great in the car on the way home.  They sit next to each other now, so they got in each other's way a bit, but overall did great.  Isla slept for quite a while.  We only stopped once on the way home, which was to get gas and didn't stop at all on the way over!  I love having decent travellers :).

Chelan Part 2

Saturday was more of the same :).  Swimming, digging, kayaking, family time!

There were little fish swimming around in the shallow water.  Miles enjoyed "fishing" with his bucket.   He was disappointed that he didn't catch anything!

Saturday at 4, we my whole family met in the park for some portraits.  Like I said, it will probably be the last time we're all together for a few years and my parents wanted a big group pic with all the current grandkids.

Miles is in this picture.  He was being a bit contrary.  He sunk down between Grandma and Grandpa!

Chelan Part 1

I was going to do one post for Chelan, but after loading some pictures, realized the post would be a million pictures long and spilt it up!

Like last year, and the year before, my parents hosted my siblings and me at Lake Chelan.  My sister flew up with her family from sunny SoCal, and my brother, and younger sister came from the west side.  We all met there on Friday afternoon.  Our drive was pleasantly short, somehow.  The weather was perfect.  I'll let the pictures do most of the telling.  There was some family time, lots of swimming, and some kayaking.  I don't have pictures of the kayaking, but my parents might, so if I get some, I'll post them.  Both the kids had a blast.  It  was a nice relaxing weekend with my whole family together, probably for the last time for a long while, as I have internationally bound siblings :(.
